The Path to the Present
Alex and Elliot's love story began on December 13th, 2015, during an unseasonably warm and sunny day in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. They met over a brunch filled with shared entrees, setting the tone for their relationship built on sharing and adventure. Their first date ended with a nicely rolled joint in Fort Greene Park, a perfect conclusion to a beautiful beginning.
That winter they escaped to the Hudson Valley, where Elliot got to know Alex's family. This peaceful retreat became their refuge from NYC's chaos, leading to their curiosity in nature and love for exploring. This excitment for adventure took them to destinations like the Pacific Northwest, Cabo, and Zion National Park.
These experiences at home and far away taught them how to lift each other up through laughter, conversation, patience and understanding. When the pandemic disrupted life on earth, they embraced change by leaving life as they knew it behind and moving upstate. Becoming a family took on new meaning when they adopted Squid, their slippery cat.
This year, during a boat ride in Acadia National Park, Elliot proposed to Alex, marking a new chapter in their journey. They are now renovating their new home, excitedly crafting their next big project and their future together, filled with good food, good design, gratitude and love.
